Carlsbad ~ Monday, 7/13 – Friday, 7/17

This Monday-to-Friday adventure is perfect for kids eager to learn fundamental bike handling skills and hit the trails with confidence. Along with biking, we’ve packed the week with exciting games and activities to keep your rider engaged and having a blast!

Throughout the week, campers will learn essential bike skills, including trail safety, proper bike and body positioning, braking, gear shifting, turning, cornering, climbing, and descending. Our expert instructors will lead fun and interactive drills to help reinforce these skills. To top it off, we’ll head out on trail rides to explore nearby trail networks, giving riders a chance to put their new skills to practice in a safe, supervised setting. Fun off bike activities, based on camp location include ranger meet and greets, ice cream rides, water balloons, domesticated animal interactions, beach visits and more!

The program is open to kids aged 7 and up who can comfortably ride a geared mountain bike with a 20″ or larger wheel size.

 

What to Bring:
To ensure a great experience, your rider will need:

  • A recently serviced mountain bike with a 20″ or larger wheel size and working gears. Rental bikes available at registration.
  • A properly fitted helmet (snug fit is key)
  • Closed-toe sneakers
  • Athletic clothing suitable for biking
  • A packed lunch, light snacks, and a water bottle to stay fueled and hydrated

This Monday–Friday adventure is designed for confident riders looking to progress their intermediate bike-handling skills and take their riding to the next level. Campers will build precision, control, and trail confidence through focused skill development, guided progression, and plenty of trail time—all in a fun, engaging Ride Krew environment.

Throughout the week, riders will refine core intermediate skills including advanced bike and body positioning, braking control, efficient gear use, technical turning and cornering, climbing technique, and controlled descending. Ride Krew coaches lead intentional, skill-based drills that emphasize progression, consistency, and confidence. As skills sharpen, riders will apply what they’ve learned on guided trail rides, exploring local trail networks and practicing real-world trail riding in a safe, supportive, and supervised setting.

Off the bike, campers will enjoy location-based activities that keep the energy high and the week well-rounded—such as ice-cream rides, water games, ranger meet-and-greets, animal interactions, beach visits, and more.

This program is open to riders ages 7 and up who can confidently ride a geared mountain bike with 20” wheels or larger and are ready for intermediate-level skill progression and trail riding.

What to Bring:
To ensure a great experience, your rider will need:

  • A recently serviced mountain bike with a 20″ or larger wheel size and working gears. Rental bikes available at registration.

The Summer Camp Program starts with the basics of bike skills and progresses to the shredding that every bike loving kid needs!  This week-long program will also include a visit to the Calavera Hike and lots of other fun games and activities!  

The basics of bike skills taught and practiced include: trail safety and stewardship, trail scanning, bike and body positioning, braking, gear shifting, turning and cornering, proper climbing and descending, ratcheting and more! In addition to games reinforcing bike skills, we will also have a scavenger hunt, water balloon toss, etc etc etc! It’s all about having FUN!

This one week program is for kids 7+ years old with a bike wheel size of 20″ or greater that are comfortable riding a geared mountain bike on dirt trails and is limited to 15 participants. The event fee also includes a nifty swag bag with all sorts of riding gear and discounts!

Trail rides are incorporated into the program leaving from the park into the nearby trail network.

Please come ready with a geared mountain bike that is recently serviced and well working. Don’t forget to double check the chain, brakes and tire air pressure. Wear a properly fitted helmet (snug is important), closed toe sneakers and athletic clothing that is safe to ride in and weather appropriate. Well fed and hydrated riders tend to have the most fun! Please bring a packed lunch, light snacks, and a water bottle.

Riders will develop key skills, including trail safety and stewardship, trail scanning, bike and body positioning, braking, gear shifting, turning, cornering, wheel lifts, climbing and descending, ratcheting, and more!

Who Can Join?
This program is designed for kids aged 8+ who are comfortable riding a geared mountain bike on dirt trails. With a small group size of just 8 participants per session, each rider receives personalized coaching. Parents, feel free to drop off or stay and watch—it’s up to you!

Each participant also receives a swag bag with riding gear and exclusive discounts!

What to Bring:
To ensure a great experience, please have your rider arrive with:

  • A recently serviced, geared mountain bike with 24″ or larger wheels. Rental bikes available at registration.
    • Double-check the chain, brakes, and tire pressure for optimal performance.
  • A snug, properly fitted helmet for safety.
  • Closed-toe sneakers and athletic, weather-appropriate clothing.
  • A water bottle and a light snack for hydration and energy.

Well-fed and hydrated riders have the most fun, so please make sure your rider is ready!

In the second half of the program, riders will take on real trails, departing from the park into nearby trail networks. Starting with the basics, the program progresses to advanced skills, building confidence and skill so every bike-loving kid can ride like a pro! Expect high levels of flow and fun as they improve their technique and tear up the trails.

                                       Program runs for eight Wednesdays: 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21, 5/28, and 6/4.

The After School Program focuses on the essential skills needed to be a good mountain biker that includes: trail safety and stewardship, trail scanning, bike and body positioning, braking, gear shifting, turning and cornering, wheel lifts, proper climbing and descending, ratcheting and more!

This eight week program is for kids 8+ years old with a bike wheel size of 24″ or greater that are comfortable riding a geared mountain bike on dirt trails. It is limited to 8 participants each session. Parents you can drop off or hang out at your discretion. The event fee also includes a nifty swag bag with all sorts of riding gear and discounts!

Trail rides are incorporated into the 2nd half of the program leaving from the park into the nearby trail network.

This program starts with the basics and progresses to high level shredding that every bike loving kid needs! We guarantee you they will be ripping it up like no other, HIGH levels of FLOW and FUN to be had!

Please come ready with a geared mountain bike that is recently serviced and well working. Don’t forget to double check the chain, brakes and tire air pressure. Wear a properly fitted helmet (snug is important), closed toe sneakers and athletic clothing that is safe to ride in and weather appropriate. Well fed and hydrated riders tend to have the most fun! Your rider will learn the entirety of bike fundamentals, including bike safety and conducting an ABC bike check, the importance of a properly fit helmet and helmet check, bike components and equipment, the three mountain bike essentials, neutral and ready positions, proper bike body positioning and separation, shifting gears, effective braking techniques, steering and cornering, safely getting on and off the bike on hills, ratcheting, riding switchbacks, wheel lifts, and more!

Skills are taught in a playful environment using obstacles and games to make the learning experience enjoyable and engaging.

Our small coach to rider class ratio ensures personalized attention and support for each rider, allowing them to build confidence and develop a solid foundation of off-road biking skills.

These clinics are suitable for riders aged 7+ who are comfortable riding their bikes off-road.

Join us and experience the joy of riding and conquering new challenges on the trail!

Please ensure that your rider arrives prepared for the clinic with the following:

  • A geared mountain bike with a wheel size of 20″ or greater that has been recently serviced and is in functional condition.
