The Summer Camp Program starts with the basics of bike skills and progresses to the shredding that every bike loving kid needs! This week-long program will also include a visit to the Calavera Hike and lots of other fun games and activities!
The basics of bike skills taught and practiced include: trail safety and stewardship, trail scanning, bike and body positioning, braking, gear shifting, turning and cornering, proper climbing and descending, ratcheting and more! In addition to games reinforcing bike skills, we will also have a scavenger hunt, water balloon toss, etc etc etc! It’s all about having FUN!
This one week program is for kids 7+ years old with a bike wheel size of 20″ or greater that are comfortable riding a geared mountain bike on dirt trails and is limited to 15 participants. The event fee also includes a nifty swag bag with all sorts of riding gear and discounts!
Trail rides are incorporated into the program leaving from the park into the nearby trail network.
Please come ready with a geared mountain bike that is recently serviced and well working. Don’t forget to double check the chain, brakes and tire air pressure. Wear a properly fitted helmet (snug is important), closed toe sneakers and athletic clothing that is safe to ride in and weather appropriate. Well fed and hydrated riders tend to have the most fun! Please bring a packed lunch, light snacks, and a water bottle.
