Riding a bike is an incredible, lifelong adventure, and we’re here to make sure everyone can experience the joy of it!

 Our one-day clinic guides riders through a step-by-step process for confidently learning to ride. Using engaging activities that build and reinforce essential skills, we’ll have you rolling smoothly in no time! With a friendly, professional coaching team and a small coach-to-rider ratio, we create a supportive environment that helps riders overcome fears while developing important techniques. From learning balance and “wiggling” to confidently starting and stopping, riders will master handling obstacles and much more. Our fun, proven methods ensure everyone leaves with the confidence and excitement to ride!

Clinic Details:

  • What to Bring: Riders should bring their own bike without training wheels. Riders must be able to sit with feet flat on the ground.
  • Who Can Join: Open to all ages 4+. An accompanying adult may be needed to support riders ages 4-12.
  • Bring Along: Weather-appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes, water (bottle or hydration pack), and a small snack.

Escondido ~ After School Program

After School Mountain Biking Program
Our After School Program teaches essential mountain biking skills in a supportive, fun environment. Riders will develop key skills, including trail safety and stewardship, trail scanning, bike and body positioning, braking, gear shifting, turning, cornering, wheel lifts, climbing and descending, ratcheting, and more!

Who Can Join?
This program is designed for kids aged 8+ who are comfortable riding a geared mountain bike on dirt trails. With a small group size of just 8 participants per session, each rider receives personalized coaching. Parents, feel free to drop off or stay and watch—it’s up to you!

Each participant also receives a swag bag with riding gear and exclusive discounts!

What to Bring:
To ensure a great experience, please have your rider arrive with:

  • A recently serviced, geared mountain bike with 24″ or larger wheels.
    • Double-check the chain, brakes, and tire pressure for optimal performance.
  • A snug, properly fitted helmet for safety.
  • Closed-toe sneakers and athletic, weather-appropriate clothing.
  • A water bottle and a light snack for hydration and energy.

Well-fed and hydrated riders have the most fun, so please make sure your rider is ready!

Program Highlights:
In the second half of the program, riders will take on real trails, departing from the park into nearby trail networks. Starting with the basics, the program progresses to advanced skills, building confidence and skill so every bike-loving kid can ride like a pro! Expect high levels of flow and fun as they improve their technique and tear up the trails.

Lake Hodges ~ Family Ride

Join us with your young riders as explore the local trail system! This is a beginner Sprockids Family Ride. Our guides will lead the adventure around Lake Hodges exploring the area’s  fun and flowy single track!

Participants for this ride should be comfortable riding off-road on undulating terrain. A geared mountain bike with hand brakes is required. Expect to pedal 4-6 miles with slight elevation changes over the course of the ride. Family rides are open to riders ages 8+.

PARENTS: This is an event for you to ride alongside your young shredder, please book a ticket for yourself as well.

EQUIPMENT: Geared mountain bike with hand brakes and 24″ wheel or greater, weather appropriate clothing and closed toed shoes, bike mounted water bottle or hydration pack, snack and a fun positive attitude!

Lake Hodges ~ Trail Ride

Bring your young riders out to explore the area and trails around Lake Hodges! This is an intermediate Sprockids Adventure open to riders age 8+. Our guides will start at the historic Sike’s Adobe and ride into the surrounding trail system exploring the area’s vast fun and flowy trails and open space areas.

This is the “Adventure in Your Own Backyard Adventure Ride.” From Sike’s we will push off west along the North Shore Trail System and make our way out to the Lake Hodges Dam.  It’s a mix of fun, flowy trails and a few technical bits all with exceptional views and good times. Total mileage will be about 16 miles and under 1,000 ft elevation gain.

Riders suitable for this adventure will have a reasonable grasp of bike-body balance techniques, steering and cornering as well as braking. They should overall be confident handling their bike on intermediate trails. We will be providing lunch after the ride, please pack trail snacks.

This event is departing from the parking area near Sike’s Adobe.

EQUIPMENT: A geared mountain bike that has a wheel size of 24″ or greater, is recently serviced and well working. Don’t forget to double check the chain, brakes and tire air pressure. Weather appropriate clothing and closed toed shoes, bike mounted water bottle or hydration pack, snack and a fun positive attitude!

Parents, you are encouraged to participate in our rides alongside your child. The same skill, equipment, and bike requirements stated above apply for parents and you must also book yourself a ticket.

Lake Hodges ~ Trail Rides Program

Join us with your young riders as we explore the varied and diverse trail systems around Lake Hodges! This is an intermediate Sprockids Trail Rides Program.

Participants for this ride should be comfortable riding off-road on undulating terrain, previous trail riding experience is recommended. Expect to pedal around 5 miles for the early rides, growing into 12 mile rides by the final meeting.

PARENTS: This is an event for you, if desired, to ride alongside your young shredder at no additional cost. Please only book for your child but, let us know in the comments box if you plan to ride.

EQUIPMENT: Please come ready with a geared mountain bike that has 24″ or greater wheels,  is recently serviced and well working. Don’t forget to double check the chain, brakes and tire air pressure. Wear a properly fitted helmet (snug is important), closed toe sneakers and athletic clothing that is safe to ride in and weather appropriate. Well fed and hydrated riders tend to have the most fun! Please bring a water bottle and light snack.

Learn to Ride – Clairemont

Riding a bike is SO MUCH FUN and we want to help everyone enjoy this amazing, lifelong, outdoor activity!  This two day clinic provides a step-by-step process on how to confidently ride a bike.  Through engaging activities teaching and reinforcing skills we’ll have everyone rolling in no time!  Our friendly professional coaching staff in combination with a small coach to rider class ratio will help to overcome fears and teach important skills.  Learning the skills of paddling and wiggling will get every rider on the way to confidently start and stop, understand how to maneuver bikes around obstacles, and much more! Our fun, unique, and proven instruction methods will help everyone experience the joy of riding a bike!

Participants for this clinic should arrive with their own bike without training wheels.  Rider should be able to sit on the seat with their feet flat on the ground. The event is open to everyone age 4+.  For riders 4-12 years old, an accompanying adult may be needed to support their rider throughout the clinic.  Also, don’t forget hydration (water bottle or hydration pack) and a small snack.

PARENTS: Mom and Dad, do you need help learning to ride a bike as well?  Great news, we will teach you alongside your child!  Please sign yourself up as well.

NC Coastal ~ Jumping Fundamentals I

The Sprockids San Diego Jumping Fundamentals clinic teaches how to safely and effectively handle your bike while getting airborne! This is taught in a park environment using progressive jump sizing though skills drills, games, and fun activities.

In this clinic we will review bike safety and how to conduct an ABC bike check, importance of a properly fit helmet and a helmet check, the three mountain bike essentials, what neutral and ready position are and how and when to use them as well as proper bike body positioning and separation. We expect all riders attending to have a reasonable grasp on these concepts beforehand.

Your rider will learn: the importance of using a foot wedge and body wedge to maintain control of the bike, front and rear wheel lifts, pressure control and stomping into the lip of a jump, body mechanics while airborne and landing technique.

This is an intermediate to advanced clinic and riders signing up should have a reasonable confidence in bike handling. The event is suitable for riders aged 8+ that have been through a Sprockids Fundamental I and II clinic or After School Program. If you have not ridden with us before and are unsure if this event is suitable for your rider, please reach out to discuss.

Please come ready with a mountain, dirt jump, slopestyle or BMX bike that is recently serviced and well working. Don’t forget to double check the chain, brakes and tire air pressure. Skills are taught in a playful environment using our obstacles and playing games while on the bike!

This clinic is suitable for riders aged 7+ that are comfortable riding their bikes off-road.

Please come ready with a geared mountain bike that has a wheel size of 20″ or greater and is recently serviced and functional. Don’t forget to double check the chain, brakes and tire air pressure. Wear a properly fitted helmet (snug is important), closed toe sneakers and athletic clothing that is safe to ride in and weather appropriate. Well fed and hydrated riders tend to have the most fun! Please bring a bike mounted water bottle or hydration pack and a light snack.

Our Fundamentals I Clinic is a fun, engaging way for young riders to develop essential off-road biking skills. Through structured drills, games, and exciting activities, riders will gain confidence and competence in essential biking techniques.  Skills are taught in a playful, supportive environment using fun obstacles and games to reinforce learning.

Your Rider Will Learn:

  • Bike Safety: Understanding bike safety checks, including the ABC (Air, Brakes, Chain) check.
  • Helmet Fit: Proper helmet fitting and safety checks.
  • Bike Components & Equipment: Familiarity with essential mountain bike components and equipment.
  • Core Skills: Mastering the three mountain bike essentials, neutral and ready positions, bike body positioning, and effective separation.
  • Gear Shifting & Braking: How to shift gears smoothly and brake effectively.

Who Can Join? This clinic is ideal for riders aged 7+ who feel comfortable riding their bikes off-road.

What to Bring:

  • A recently serviced mountain bike with a 20″ or larger wheel size and working gears. Rental bikes available at registration.
  • A properly fitted helmet (snug fit is important).
  • Closed-toe sneakers and athletic, weather-appropriate clothing.
  • A bike-mounted water bottle or hydration pack and a light snack.

Well-fed and hydrated riders get the most out of our clinic, so please ensure your rider is fueled up!

Ride Krew Jumping Fundamentals Clinic
Join us for Ride Krew’s Jumping Fundamentals Clinic, where riders will learn to safely and confidently get airborne! Set in a park environment, this clinic offers a progressive approach to jumping with drills, games, and fun activities to master the basics of jumping on two wheels.

What We’ll Cover:

  • Safety Basics: Reviewing bike safety, including the ABC (Air, Brakes, Chain) check, and ensuring proper helmet fit.
  • Core Skills Refresher: Reinforcing the three mountain biking essentials, neutral and ready positions, and body positioning.

Participants should have a solid understanding of these foundational skills, as they will build upon them in this clinic.

Your Rider Will Learn:

  • Control Techniques: Using foot and body wedges for bike control.
  • Wheel Lifts: Mastering front and rear wheel lifts for jump approach.
  • Pressure Control: Learning how to control pressure and stomp into the lip of a jump.
  • Airborne Mechanics: Practicing proper body mechanics in the air and learning safe landing techniques.

Who Can Join?
This clinic is designed for intermediate to advanced riders aged 8+ with confident bike handling skills. Previous completion of a Ride Krew’s Fundamentals I & II clinic or our After School Program is recommended. If your rider is new to Ride Krew and you’re unsure if this clinic is a fit, please contact us to discuss.

What to Bring:
Please ensure your rider arrives prepared with the following:

  • A recently serviced mountain, dirt jump, slopestyle, or BMX bike.
